The Story of the Phasmophobia Board Mods Egos & Their Crusade to Only Achieve World Records.

Started today with a mod of the Phasmophobia speedrun community proudly exclaiming that he is hiding strats.

When asked why he claims that the SM64 and SMO community hide strats, but the communities also have strat channels to post and discuss routes and also cites 'Sphynx Strat' being hidden, according to people I know familiar with SMO his claim it was 'hidden' is in fact false.

The moderator later goes on to state that he can't turn off the 'auto-verification' some boards have for mods on by default. It's a pretty obvious button, but I had to teach him and I don't mind teaching people how to mod. More about moderator auto-verification will be coming.

A user brings up an issue with moderators auto-verifying runs and how moderators can cheat, there reply is these moderators are 'highly qualified' and will not cheat, every active community with 5+ runners and 5+ mods I've been in do not allow moderators to self-verify.

I ask if I have to moderate the moderator's runs in order to verify they have not cheated to no response. A quartet runner comes in upset that his quartet had to wait over 24 hours for his run to be verified while moderators are self-verifying their own runs.

The only response the mods give is a screencap showing no runs awaiting verification. This quartet have since left the speedrunning community for Phasmophobia.

They continue to repeat how hard it is to moderate the boards and when I bring up modding the Simpsons Hit & Run board they claim that 'All those runs are months old.'

My quartet also deletes all of our runs and a moderator brags about how they have a world record now because our runs are gone in protest to the terrible moderation of the leaderboards.

The 'high quality' mods then proceed to joke about the suicide of one of the members of the other quartets in a now deleted post.

When confronted about the post above this is the closest thing to an apology given.

Shortly after for some reason they allowed everyone to @ everyone and the first response is now deleted from I believe the super mod of the board, I have more context but this comment has no context besides their inability to moderate a discord.

Phasmophobia is a fantastic game with a fantastic dev and I recommend everyone play it, but the behaviour of the mods to the community is some of the worst I've seen. They treat the community as lesser to them since they have a mod sword, this elitism has no place in speedrunning

I genuinely hope they learn what they're doing before the community dies from their decisions, because judging on their actions from just today it's right around the corner.

Also apologies, about the racism CW at the start. There is none in this piece. There was a piece I was debating about adding, but decided against it because the moderators did clean up the racist memes in the general channel.

Also I forgot a part where I dm'd moderators TWICE about validating invalid runs 1 of which has since been rejected, but 1 A WEEK LATER is still on the board.

Hello, I've just woken up and remembered 2 more things. I spoke with the 'high quality' moderators twice about accepting invalid runs the 2nd run I sent to bye was never rejected even though it's invalid.

I also made a forum post a week ago asking for clarification on a ruling and since the moderators don't seem to care, while people continue to like my post I've edited it to try to get some form of response from the mod team.

After the spam of racist images last night, following a mod asking people not to 'spam memes' this is the next message right below it.

Contacted src mods as well and were told there was nothing they could do.
