So dating the avatar of death is, metaphorically, a bit on the nose. It's not NOT there. I see Zagreus and Thanatos tagged in jokes about suicide all the time.

Gay, traumatized, and relationship-reluctant, I don't like the implications that Zagreus MUST end up with Death, that Zagreus is meaningfully bound to Death, and that I would be doing more service to all gay people and to myself to swallow and ignore my own feelings.

It's just another step in a long tradition of giving straight writers more credit than gay readers, and I don't like it.
