There are respectable adult ways to oppose ACB& #39;s nomination. Two, primarily: "Hey, I don& #39;t want justices like Scalia, I want justices like RBG." Great, there& #39;s no mystery which one she says she& #39;ll be like. And "I think the timing stinks given the hypocrisy." OK, that& #39;s not nuts.
But parsing every single answer into a soundbite to make it seem as if she& #39;s open to resisting a peaceful transition to power when she& #39;s quite reasonably avoiding the invitation to engage in a needless fight with the president who nominated her, or as if she wants to get rid of
Medicare, or the like--these things are not adult. She in fact did praise the tradition of peaceful transitions of power as an achievement of the framers, which didn& #39;t stop the NYT in my morning email from claiming "Barrett won’t endorse a peaceful transfer of power." Sophomoric.
