Earth bender Avatar but....
He's black and from a feared and hated minority tribe of Earth Benders, called "the obayisansan" by the villagers. Local legend says that this Earth tribe uses black magic to cast "glamours" all to lure people away and eat them or worse....

One legend has it that one day a man fell in love with a woman who didn't love him back. When the wan rejected the man was outraged and heartbroken. The woman did not know that the man she had rejected was in fact an "obayisansan".

One day the husband was out hunting when he saw someone in the distance in the distress. As he got closer he realized it was his wife drowning in the river. He jumped in to save her but before he could the swamp ground opened up and swallowed him.

His wife than swam out of the river and became the man, the obayisansan in disguise. When the obayisansan got back to the house of the woman he loved, she inquired why he was wet but he would not speak. She went to all the doctors and healers but she could not get him to talk

She loves her husband and still took to him despite his new found malady. They soon have a child who soon develops bending. However, like her father, she has inherited the obayisansan's unique bending abilities.

During an innocent display of bending, the little girl becomes her mother. Her mother screams and comes to a horrible truth before passing out. When she awakes she goes to the tribe leader and they confront her 'husband"

He assumes his true form and professes his love for the woman and their child. Disgusted the woman rejects him and the child. The town then "executes" the obayisansan and the child. They also exile the woman for having carried the essence of an abomination
