THREAD: Takeaways from my last big interview w/ @Hickenlooper before the election.

On climate change, we asked why not ban fracking?

He prefers market forces. "You might as well ban automobiles. Banning things has never been the most effective way to get this country to change."
In a greener economy, what changes does he see for fossil fuel workers?

*Skills training for new jobs
*Incentives to lure entrepreneurs to towns reliant on oil/gas/coal

"And if somebody does have to move... we should provide them support so they're not going deeper into debt."
On the ethics ruling against him:

"I still don't understand the legality" [of one of the findings]. But in general, the former governor says, "these were inadvertent errors" and "I did accept responsibility. It will not happen again."
Our conversation is set to air Friday @ColoradoMatters. Hickenlooper's Republican opponent, incumbent @CoryGardner, declined our request for an in-depth interview. #copolitics
