Read Amos tomorrow. Takes about an hour. The context is: the economy was booming, there was no war with neighboring nations, religion was going great--big attendance, lots of music and praises. Surely God was pleased. But God was NOT pleased & announced terrible judgement. Why?

Bec God& #39;s people were violating the OT law by oppressing the poor. God was angry. What did God want? Not better worship; God DESPISED their worship. "But let justice roll down like waters, & righteousness like an ever-flowing stream." They never changed. God sent them into exile.

Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear. Before they vote, I would say.
