Every part of the UK's pandemic response has been based in Conservative ideology. We faced the worst healthcare crisis in modern history, and they openly used it as an opportunity to accelerate their own political ideas regardless of the health outcomes. They still poll at 40%

The level of public contempt, the lies and platitudes, the siphoning off of *billions* of our money to companies owned and operated by their friends, without even competitive tender - the sheer self-interest is something I haven't really been able to come to terms with

This is out-in-the-open disaster capitalism funded, legitimised, propped up by us. Every day they are allowed to remain in office - every life lost due to 7 months of time-wasting, theft, fucked up tech projects - no way to stop the loss because their ideology doesn't allow it

They don't know how to solve this problem because they simple do not understand the problem. They have never been vulnerable and they do not understand precarity, safety or compassion in the context of public policy. It's a giant game they've always won by cheating

The same way they don't understand the NHS, foodbanks, Universal Credit. They've never needed it. They never will. These are instruments of the poor that they consider bad debt - not the basic rights of millions in the world's 5th wealthiest nation

They were voted in on a single issue - to yank Britain out of the EU and scapegoat them as the misery makers of 60 years of post-war neoliberalism that has almost always been a British problem. Imagine expecting these people to want to help, on anything

The philosophy is unsaveable. It cannot be salvaged. It is simple discompassionate, country-run-by-spreadsheet, libertarian bollocks by privileged Oxbridge children who have no idea what real misery looks like. These people are a fucking disgrace and they should be in prison
