Great news from court today! Judge Penny approved Samuel Ingham’s request to add litigation counsel Loeb & Loeb to his team.
This is a huge step in allowing Ingham to help Britney fight for more autonomy, which he iterated again today was “a goal (Britney) has articulated to (him) many times.”
The back and forth between Ingham and Jamie’s attorneys was again heated. Jamie’s lawyers repeated multiple times that the relationship between themselves and Ingham had been working quite well for 13 years, so they didn’t see any reason to change things up now.
Ingham noted that Jamie’s team was so threatened by the prospect of Loeb & Loeb coming on that their petition to appoint Andrew Wallet “vanished” shortly after they found about it.
Ingham also pointed out that without telling Britney’s side he was going to do so, Jamie approached Bessemer, (the company Britney is trying to bring on as co-conservator), and, in his view, attempted to usurp control over their potential relationship with Britney.
It seems as though Ingham intends to, with the help of Loeb & Loeb, focus on some problems he sees with the way the conservatorship has been reporting their finances. He told the judge he needs help going through the most recent accounting report.
Jamie’s side repeatedly feigned sadness at the idea of Britney’s money being spent on lawyers. (Seriously.)
Even after Judge Penny made her ruling, Jeryll Cohen told the court that she was “very sad for Ms. Spears” and that she was “disappointed and sad to see her money spent on litigation.”
In a rare case of agreeing with Jeryll Cohen, we too, think it’s quite sad so much of Britney’s money has been spent on lawyers. #FreeBritney
