I met @Stephaniebice back when we worked to update liquor laws. I respect those who serve our state and run for public office. It’s a hard job. But, without question, she is not only wrong on healthcare, her comments are dangerous. Heres why https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNwTseNwhC8">https://www.youtube.com/watch...
I& #39;m 33 years old. I have had cancer three times. At 18, I received treatment at St. Jude Children& #39;s Research Hospital and underwent a ONE MILLION dollar transplant. I started my adult life at the life time limit of health care coverage.
My mother almost lost her job after serving as my full time caregiver when her FLMA ran out, which would have made my insurance lapse and risked me losing coverage due to a pre-existing condition.
At 26, I underwent ANOTHER one million dollar treatment. And, again at 33 had an $800,000 treatment. I have maxed out my annual contribution limit ($2,800) to my HSA and spent through it every single year with my out of pocket expenses and that is with private health insurance.
I have spent tens of thousands of dollars, probably close to $50,000, over my adult life just trying to survive cancer. You think a $3,000 health savings account would cut it?
Had the ACA not been passed, I would be uninsurable. Without insurance, I would not get the transplants needed to keep me alive (there are cancer patients now denied the chance because they can& #39;t pay). Without the transplant, I would be dead.
We live in the greatest country in the WORLD. Our people deserve a fighting chance at life and to be prolife is to be prohealthcare. This message is dangerous and harmful to Oklahomans, where health outcomes are bad enough without limiting access to care, coverage, and protection
Look I can’t vote in her election anyway but the people of Oklahoma City need to recognize a message designed with problems in mind and not solutions. @stephaniebice invite open to clarify your comments. Or just vote for @HornForCongress cause she actually VOTES to protect us.
