i wasn’t going to enter this ‘new’ discourse but a reminder looking down is inherently ableist.
you might not enjoy graphic novels but thinking of them as lesser forms of storytelling is very exclusionary and very, again, ableist.
the assumption that wordsy is smarter and graphic novels are for the lazy or are *insert most used ableist word here* is both very wrong and small minded.
graphic novels are great *novels* because the name includes novel. they’re great and aid reading for a lot of people. disabled people like dyslexic people, people with adhd and aphantasia utilise them for a better reading experience and they are also a lovely to look at.
something not being your thing is ok, but being an ableist asshole isn’t.

graphic novels, audiobooks and other ‘non-conventional’ forms of storytelling and reading are valid, so please be respectful
*looking down on graphic novels

sorry my brain cells don’t catch typos when i’m angry and have an headache and at every other time lol 💀
