Graphic novels are novels. I don't give a crap what kinda format a kid reads in as long as a kid reads. https://twitter.com/se4realhinton/status/1316197957394477058
Prime example: New Kid by Jerry Craft is absolutely brilliant and tons of kids, teachers, and librarians love it. And guess what? It's a graphic novel.
You know what turns a lot of kids away from reading? Snobbery. We make them feel as if only one kind of book is legitimate reading and in turn take the pleasure out of it for them.

If a kid wants to read a video game walkthrough book, LET THEM.
I would absolutely love for my books to have graphic novel adaptations. Just saying.
I don’t wanna hear any adult criticize kids for reading graphic novels. Most of y’all spend your day reading Twitter. You have no room to judge.
