as someone who was WFH before this year and fought so hard to be WFH and was so emotionally nourished by the freedom of it... I have so many feelings about how this year is absolutely —not— WFH, it is the antithesis of that
yes we are all technically working from our homes but it is *not* the experience of a voluntary WFH situation, not at all
I used to work at home every morning and in a coffee shop every afternoon and even in wine bars some evenings.
It wasn’t lonely because I used to have plans with friends almost every night! I was downtown in the West Village, the East Village, browsing The Strand and Bluestockings and even traipsing off to Brooklyn every fucking week.
