Time for the Truth Cllr Taylor
A few weeks ago Eden Council leader Cllr Taylor faced a vote of No Confidence.
This was put forward following moves by the council leader to make arrangements with the leader of Carlisle city council to share one CEO between the councils.

The motion stated that Cllr Taylor had made these arrangements with no authority or consultation of the council members acting beyond her powers.
Cllr Taylor as part of her defence against this stated that nothing beyond informal conversations had taken place between the leaders.

The council voted 16 - 20 with only 4 votes in it.
I have put in a Freedom of Information request to both Eden Council and Carlisle City council asking for copies of all communications between elected members and officers of both councils in regards the sharing of the CEO.

I can confirm that in the information received back from both Councils now there is an email chain involving officers Cllr Taylor and the city council leader in regards sharing the CEO including preparing a press statement and and agreement of shared service contract.

The dates span back to the 2nd of September were agreements were getting shared.
It was stated in emails they did not see this as causing any issues or contention yet the press statement was with held when those outside the clique on this issue started to get snippets of info

and ask questions.
Based on the statement made by the Leader of Eden council Cllr Taylor before the last full council meeting of Eden council and the information received from Eden and Carlisle councils under the FOI request.

I can only come to the conclusion that the Leader Cllr Taylor was far from factual and was not truthful in her statement on this issue to the public and elected members.
