i& #39;ve been purposefully not following the confirmation hearings, just out of saving my own mental health. but the more i read about b*rrett, the more scared i am.

cause she is like so many white women i& #39;ve worked with/under. smiles to your face while hating everything about you.

calls you a "doll" and a "huge help", always has your back, generally gives you respect, basically becomes your "work mom"

but then ask her what she thinks about BLM or gay marriage or immigration. changes her tune real fucking quick. now she& #39;s not as nice as you thought.

that& #39;s what a LOT of white women do. give compliments & is nice & sweet to you as an individual, because she can have compassion for YOU, but not for your community.

she doesn& #39;t see that you& #39;re black, or queer, or 2nd generation immigrant.

so it& #39;s easier for her to tell you to your face that not only does she believe in harmful stereotypes or conspiracy theories about your people, but that she doesn& #39;t see anything wrong with it.

which is fine. cause it& #39;s just during work right? she doesn& #39;t affect your life right?

b*rrett is one of those women.

and if/when she joins the supreme court, that same "work mom" white women energy will be in the perfect position to make some devastating decisions on your life. and mine.

so yeah. i& #39;m scared.
