#AHPsDay
Being an OT
“So what do you do?”
I& #39;m an OT. “Oh” I hear you say
You know what that means.
Well it& #39;s often difficult to explain, But that O to me is the perfect place to begin.
I like to call myself the O Therapist. I help people find there O moment, (p1)
You know that moment in between,
That moment when you’re faced with an Occupational problem,
That& #39;s daily Activities to you and me.
The many ways you tried ways to solve it and just couldn& #39;t see.
That& #39;s when O T Therapy begins.
I ask you about your day,
You’re Story.(p2)
(P3)
That’s when you light up,
O the memories.
Together we take a walk on your life& #39;s journey,
And how this dis - ease is not the end,
Its a New beginning.
I& #39;m that one that helps to find the "O I see" solution,
That grab rail,
That structure or routine.
P4)
Structure or routine
That new way of thinking or strategy.
“So who do you work with?”
Everybody
“Everybody”
Everybody
And no I& #39;m not based in Occ. health or just do I just, basket weave.
I specialise in optimising Function, Mental Heath and well being.
P5
Oh wow, what you do sounds amazing” O it is to me.
That I get to share so many O moments,
O struggles, O pain,
O Laughter, O Rio
And all that’s O in-between.
Now you know what an O T is
Everyday, that’s what I get to be.
