Let's talk about one of the most important concepts in comedy, Punching Up.

Punching Up is the idea that possibly bad taste jokes land best when they come from someone vulnerable making fun of someone with a higher social status than themselves.
It's like if a comedian struggling with rent was making jokes about their landlord being a dick. There's a power imbalance there, and as such, the jokes land much better than, say, if the landlord were to make jokes about how shitty a tenant they have.
Punching Up is 99.9% of the time funnier than Punching Down.

That's why a dude who plays video games for a living making fun of an incredibly marginalized group with a variation of an "Attack Helicopter" joke from a decade ago, completely removing taste, just isn't funny.
Beyond taste, beyond class, it's not funny. It's an absolutely absurd joke to make, proof of someone not being able to read a room to save their life.

Humor is subjective, I know, blah blah blah. But the joke just isn't well crafted, it punches down, there's nothing there.
Personally, I find it offensive towards both trans people and comedic theory. It's like if someone made a bio that said "I stood next to a pride parade too long and now I'm gay". What the fuck does that even mean. Who is that joke for. What purpose does it serve.
Anyway, this is a long-winded way to say the joke is dumb, I find it in incredibly poor taste, and people should probably recognize that attacking an already seriously marginalized group makes you look like a bit of an asshole.
