the ph government is so fucked up. im gonna make a thread about it so everyone is aware what is happening. we can't afford to be ignorant about these issues especially if we have the platform to be vocal !!!
Reina Nasino (23), a political prisoner gave birth to Baby River last July 1 during her time of imprisonment. A month later, the court separated them together. They denied the pleas to release Nasino and the right of Nasino to take care of her child, a-month-old baby.
However, Baby River died last Friday due to diarrhea and fever. Nasino wasn't able to hold her child during the last moments. She was only able her goodbyes through a video call. #JusticeForBabyRiver
The court finally admitted Nasino's furlough to attend the burial of her dead child today, supposedly 1pm - 4pm.
But as seen in this video, the gurads tried to take Nasino back to jail even though it's not 4PM yet. She just fucking lost her child !!! This is a burial. They are supposed to respect Baby River. But the police can't even extend their empathy to them.
The police explained that the reason behind this action is because of the lack of guards but what is this !!! Nasino, human-rights activist & a grieving mother, is regarded as a high-end profile ??? While corrupt politicians, drug lords and rapists get away from their crime ???
I can't even process my frustrations correctly of how they treated Nasino and Baby River. Just let her grieve in peace. Leave her be. They did not do anything wrong.
Please do NOT be silent about this! Continue fighting for their rights until justice will be served. Let's hold the government accountable. #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners
UPDATE:
The PNP (Philippine National Police) STOLE the remains of Baby River. As seen in this clip, the Nasino family are currently chasing them to take back Baby River.
UPDATE:
Today is Baby River's burial but the police didn't give them a chance to grieve (again). For a political prisoner who lost her child recently, this is TOO much for security. We came to the point that we are BEGGING for the state's compassion.
The police should PROTECT human liberty and SERVE the people. It's fucking ironic that they are the ones abusing this. I will never entrust my life to them. It's time to abolish the system!!!
