Why worry about people dying from Coronavirus ?

I'm genuinely hoping this will help others understand the current situation.

Perhaps it will help if you see the world the way I do. It's not always pretty but at least it's honest.

In your lifetime you will form a reasonably close friendship with around 600 people.

Of those 600 you will probably genuinely care about around 200 of them.

Some will be family, some friends, some colleagues.

But you will genuinely feel something for them all.

So far from February to March around 60,000 deaths have been attributed to Covid19 in the UK.

The population of the UK is 67,000,000.

So 67,000,000 / 60,000 is approximately

one person in every eleven hundred UK citizens dead.

1 in 1,116 to be exact.
4/7

That's 1 in 1116 people dead in the UK in the last 9 months.

YOU personally know 600 people approx

so about half of you know, or know of someone who has died.

YOU are close to 1 in 200 people

so about 1 in 6 of you know someone CLOSE to you who has died from Covid19
5/7

Now let's look at how many more people are likely to die over the next 8 months.

The Government estimate is anywhere between 85,000 and 130,000.

Let’s be conservative and say 100,000 more deaths.

Divide that 100k

Pre Christmas (40,000)

Post Christmas (50,000)
6/7

So you know 1 in 600 people and are very close to 1 in 200.

By Christmas 100,000 people will have died from Covid19:

that’s 67,000,000 / 100,000 = 1 in 670

90% of you will know someone who has died of Covid19 before Christmas
7/7

By May that’s about 150,000 people dead from Covid19:

that’s 67,000,000 / 150,000 = 1 in 447

ALL of you will know someone who has died.

For almost HALF of you it will have been someone close…..

PLEASE STOP THINKING THIS IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT !
