There’s a New York Post story circulating about Hunter Biden and his role with Burisma, the Ukrainian gas company. Here are some important things that the story does not say.
The story does not say that Joe Biden actually met with Hunter’s Ukrainian business associate.
The story does not show that Burisma was actually facing an investigation when Joe Biden pushed Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor, an official widely considered corrupt by U.S. and European officials.
The story does not show that Hunter promised that Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine would boost the company’s business in 2014. In fact, his email says, “what he will say and do is out of our hands.”
The story does not say that allegations of Ukrainian corruption have been pushed by Russia to undermine Joe Biden, according to U.S. intelligence officials. Nor does it mention that Rudy Giuliani has worked with a Ukrainian lawmaker identified as a Russian agent.
The story does not say when Rudy Giuliani obtained the hard drive. The store owner says he made a copy before turning the laptop over to authorities last December. Has Giuliani been holding onto it since then? Or did he get it more recently?
The story does not identify the store owner, or his motivations for investigating the hard drive of his customer’s laptop or turning it over to Giuliani’s lawyer.
