THREAD: As mentioned Amy Finch, Spirit’s Head of Programmes & Impact, addressed the #ActiveLondon conference today.🤸‍♀️

The topic? “Inclusive Approaches to Activity” – something @GetActiveGOGA does really well. Here’s what we learned from how they do things… @LondonSport
1⃣ - When collecting initial data from participants - e.g. their demographics and activity levels, use this to build up a clear picture of who's coming and whether that matches who you're trying to reach. Use this to inform your outreach strategy.🏋️
2⃣ - Having disabled and non-disabled people get active together is great way of getting families which include a disabled person to do fun stuff as a group, while improving the activity levels of the parents as well as the children too!🧑‍🦯🧑‍🦽👪🏃‍♀️
3⃣ - Our focus as a funder was never on sky-high KPIs. It's not about getting loads of people involved in GOGA activities, it's about getting the right people and creating long-term change in their activity levels. 🚀
4⃣ - The social side - the tea and cake, the phone calls that encourage people to come, the lasting connections - are just as crucial (if not *more*) as the physical side when it comes to getting people to attend regularly. 💛
5⃣ - GOGA has allowed organisations to look at interesting partnerships between other organisations, both sporting and non-sporting! 🤝💪
Huge thanks to @AllForActivity and all the @GetActiveGOGA organisers, volunteers and participants for sharing their inspiring stories.

And a big shout-out to @LondonSport for hosting us at #ActiveLondon! To learn more about GOGA, watch our talk on-demand on their website. 😻
