Steve's out finally, and he's fun asf to play as. First impressions: Seems like some of his hitboxes can be stumpy in comparison to other fighters. Minecart def seems like a good kill option, and down air is also quite nice. Build only seems good for recovery and not gimping -
- since all of his offstage blocks disappear when you go back onstage. Kirby inhale is adorable asf but he only inherits the build and mine parts of Steve, making it kinda useless for Kirby's recovery game. Upsmash is a very nice read option as long as you can hit it, since it -
- leaves you VERY open if it misses. He seems like a momentum character, mining slowly yet surely over the match and getting diamonds before or at the last stock to use them. Diamond tools are hella good, buffing damage more than anything else, and can fuck sum1 up very fast. -
- His Fsmash and Dsmash are also very nice. Fsmash is very powerful and kills early-ish, but it can really eat your durability. Dsmash is a very nice option for covering the ledge. His tilts are all good, but Dtilt is very laggy, making it impractical onstage. Still might have -
- gimp potential. Speaking of gimps, Steve's recovery. Very easily gimped, and a little hard to use, but overall good. Similar to Meta Knight's glide from Brawl, but very toned down.
