No, a hashflag doesn't 100% = a sale/stream/vote but it spreads awareness of the cb on twt to a fair degree and it's become the bare minimum (allegedly $1M a pop) that's been expectedly provided for everyone else now. Why is Taemin the exception? How much more is ok to let slide?
There was and Still is SO many people who didn't even know he had a cb thanks to SM's lack of promo which goes beyond just a hashflag and many only found out by the spread clip of him desperately asking FANS to help promote his cb (which we did) when that should be a given by SM
You can't fucking compare 2 fandoms that are built so differently and you can't say Shawols didn't "show up" either when we actually did the best in every area overall. We begged other fandoms for help & pity, we got ads, sales, views, streams, radioplay blocked by SM, votes, etc
How the fuck did you expect Taemin to get music show wins when SM didn't even give him the 1st week to rack up credit/momentum and also uh hello did you forget the other side was BTS??? right. Regardless we still maxed points where we could there.
Y'all donation shamed over ads but I've seen a fair amount of fanaccounts and direct notes of locals & nonfans finding out about the cb thanks to it. Y'all said ads are outdated yet others still do them? Can't we buy albums AND do that to promote Taemin more since SM won't?
NCTzens are 2 whole fandoms (23 sub-fandoms) made up of a mostly younger demographic who came up in a time where mass organized streaming/voting/buying etc on today's scale was a norm. Shawols are mostly boomers who weren't but at least they're learning/trying now & doing decent
NCT also had active momentum for growth through consistent promo via multiple group cb's, mainstream western promo with an additional US label, the hype of new member additions, and pretty much a month of pre-promo for this cb. Taemin got 5-6 delays over a year, a few pics for-
-2 KIDS with half coming from his own IG, Criminal leaked early by SM w/o consent, and the rest of NGDA A1 (an album worked on for nearly 2 years but came out for barely 1 week) was overshadowed & simultaneously overlapped by SuperM promos which were also handled pretty messily.
You people constantly seem to forget about a thing called "growth". Of course the same old group of fans are gonna show up but even Taemin himself said he worked so hard on this album he wants EVERYONE and more to see it. You can't really grow without enough proper spotlight.
I could go on & on about how badly Taemin got shafted for ACT 1 based on objective observations rather than blind emo whining but I mean if you actually cared you'd probably know enough already to understand us calling out bs instead discrediting and being complacently dismissive
