Why do I think that expressing your opinion about someone, in public, is potentially bad?

First off, it's your OPINION.

Second, people tend to blindly say that your opinion is fact. Take for example the people who have been accused in the Court of Public Opinion...
...does anyone remember Herman Cain? Possibly not, but he was a man who ran for office against Barak Obama. At least he would have, polls showed he would have given Obama a run for his money. But before he could, before he won the Republican Nomination he was merely accused...
...of a form of Sexual Misconduct. Accused not in a Court of Law, oh No. Accused on the Mainstream Media News, and once accused it went viral. The Court of Public Opinion went wild and politically lynched him. Was he actually guilty? We'll never know, because the truth...
...means nothing in the Court of Public Opinion. Someone's reputation can be destroyed, even if they win an anti-libel case in an ACTUAL Court of Law, whether or not they're guilty. Simply by throwing them to the Gossip Wolves of the Court of Public Opinion.
When we, as a nation, actually value the truth, we will find a way to abolish this illegitimate court, yet somehow preserve free speech.

Until then, don't ever come to me with gossip or slander about anyone. You won't like the results.
