So if you have Sportsbook apps installed on your phone or tablet, one thing you may notice is books pushing notifications for boosted 3rd Quarter prop bets as halftime approaches.

There& #39;s one thing they all have in common that makes them bad bets though.
Experienced live bettors will already recognize this, but for the novice it may not be as clear.

Maybe the bet is on a guy to go over a yardage total that& #39;s less than 1/4 of what the total was in his pregame line. Great value, right?

Not exactly.
Every notification for a 3Q bet I& #39;ve gotten has been for an over (or scoring a TD) on a player whose team does NOT get the ball to start the half.

They may end up with just one or two posessions in the quarter.

But wait, there& #39;s more...
The 1st and 3rd quarters of an NFL game typically have fewer plays run than the 2nd and 4th quarters due to how teams manage the clock as they approach halftime and the end of the game.

You& #39;re betting into the lowest play volume possible for that player.
There& #39;s definitely an edge to betting props, and not all boosts are bad bets, some can be very +EV.

But remember not to just blindly bet these booster odds, even if they look tempting at first glance.
