71% of students are opposed to allowing a speaker on campus who promotes the statement: “Some racial groups are less intelligent than others”

I’m honestly unaware of a finding that replicates so robustly in all of the social sciences. No expert denies the assertion.
I include this figure in my 101 psychology lectures on intelligence and cover a variety of hypotheses forwarded to account for the mean differences in IQ. I’ve never received a complaint from students. I fear that will soon change.
The university should be a sacred place where even the most taboo ideas are openly discussed and debated. This is how humans, with all of our cognitive and affective biases, meander toward the beautiful, the good, and the true.
