Yeah, it might be a good idea early in your career to project an image you think is attractive to profs or jobs. But also...
sharing some personal things can help! Like if you post something about your political views, gender, or even just something you like and someone goes "Hm, I don't think that thing you posted," could be a warning sign that keeps you from taking a spot that's not a good fit.
Science is political. A scientist is not someone who sacrifices all else to science. Being a person who does science - rather than a research robot - is a good thing! Be mindful, yes, but remember to find what fits you - not just any fit.
