There is Defender of Ukraine Day. It's about all defenders of all time. But I would like to tell you about war in the east between Ukraine and Russian which is happening rn. Let's honor the memory of the fallen soldiers who saved the lives of millions of ppl in my homeland.
Euromaidan destabilized the situation in the country, which led to a number of events that ended with the occupation of Crimea in the south, Luhansk and Donetsk regions in eastern Ukraine. This war began in 2014 and continues to this day.
I'm not suggesting that you take sides. I just want to draw your attention to the fact that this armed conflict still exists. Ukraine exists. WE exist.
So I suggest you read a little more about this from my thread.
Ukraine wasn't ready to this. First defenders were volunteer troops, consisting of yesterday's accountants, IT specialists etc., whose age and state of health didn't matter. Gradually volunteer battalions and organizations were formed.
These organizations provide food, clothing and other assistance to this day. There were even foreigners among this fighters. Due to their heroism and resilience, despite the lack of military support and provocations in the media, the fighters began to be called cyborgs.
It was released on 7 December 2017 which was symbolically planned for the third anniversary of the fall of the old Donetsk airport terminal. It was an important strategic site. Since May 26, 2014, the State Aviation Service of Ukraine has suspended the airport.
In June 2014 - January 2015, during the hostilities, the airport was completely destroyed and unsuitable for servicing aircraft. The word cyborgs in the meaning of “defenders of Donetsk airport” was first used in September 2014 by an unknown pro-Russian militant.
Then he tried to explain why the advance detachments of the people's militia, fully armed, cannot take the Donetsk airport, which protects several dozen Ukrainian soldiers with small arms. Later, this word in this sense entered the dictionaries of modern slang.
This topic takes a lot of my moral strength. So I will end my thread. Be sure to ask questions, because I have something to say. And please share my thread, because the world should know about the Ukrainians and about the war on the territory of Ukraine. Thank you!
