tw: transphobia / enbyphobia
ok right. i’ve been going backwards and forwards about answering this cc or not and i have decided to as i want to quickly talk about: why coming into lgbt spaces and dictating how we should enjoy media (this case: bts) is invalidating and phobic
ok right. i’ve been going backwards and forwards about answering this cc or not and i have decided to as i want to quickly talk about: why coming into lgbt spaces and dictating how we should enjoy media (this case: bts) is invalidating and phobic
before i start this i want to just clarify i am both neurodivergent and dyslexic so phrasing/ spelling will most likely be off but i have decided to give this my best shot and explain why this cc wasn’t okay and also address the enbyphobia i’ve seen entering the timeline
i think the issue about those viral threads about jmn and respecting his pronouns is it seems to have lead to the belief that cis people now have a space to talk about what are enby + trans peoples conversations, coming into our safe spaces to try and police how we enjoy media
which, in the nicest way possible, you don’t. there is a big difference in taking comfort in jimin’s androgynous persona and calling him “enby” as a form of projection than making any actual presumptions about bts’ identity
a lot of lgbt+ fans project onto bts because it’s fun and we see a lot of ourselves in their message and we want people we like to be like us, and we shouldn’t be penalised for that in these spaces we should be able to project and talk about bts being gay enby ect (+)
because we use these projections to connect with one another and create safe spaces. coming into these spaces and dictating how we should consume media is taking away that safe space and forcing us to enjoy things from heteronormative perspective
which, i’m not being funny, we have to do everyday in real life anyways so i’d rather not have to do it online as well.
lgbt armys shouldn’t feel bad about saying things like “jungkook enby” or “jimin trans lesbian” or whatever because this is clearly a) joking or b) a comfort method and has nothing to do with us making assumptions about bts based on their appearance, personality ect
we project onto them because we /like them/ we like their personas and we want to associate ourselves with things we like. to presume we do this because we think they’re “feminine” or whatever is such a shallow understanding of gender identity and also: enby + transphobic
to trying and suggest that me writing a comfort fic about jungkook being enby is harmful to him in anyway is: enbyphobi. you have specifically come into a space i have created for other enby people to make us feel bad + there’s something wrong with saying our idols are enby
i promise you a fic wirh 100 likes on twitter is not going to ever reach kook. putting how you feel about fanfic aside trying to make enby people for projecting feel bad is not okay. i KNOW the jimin tweets were addressing a serious issue and not targeting lgbt armys projecting
but when you guys use those viral tweets as an excuse to come into our spaces and dictate how we enjoy things: it’s a problem. it’s not okay. let people take comfort. cool thannnkkksssss
also i highly doubt this will be doing any numbers but just in case it does i am gonna mute so you will be fighting with a wall if u have a problem akdjsjd goodbye peace out
