Eugenics is bad, actually

Liberal eugenics, an academic term that caught my eye a couple of weeks ago, should never be used outside the context of academia. It was dumb and wrong of me to mindlessly tweet something provocative out to garner a reaction.

Certain things that are good (such as prenatal testing and being against having kids through incest) fall under "liberal eugenics" umbrella, but overall it is deeply problematic, and after doing more reading on it, I do not believe in it.

One of the many problems I've found with liberal eugenics is that it implicitly assumes that the parents will make a good and rational choice in the type of child they would like to have. But people are neither rational nor good, and which would be reflected in their children.
