Now, after giving this a lot of thought, I’m ready to tell this SAD STORY with @uber
Everything started on Sept 19th around 10:25 when I requested a driver. I didn’t feel like walking to work because I was gonna be late. So this fine gentleman picked up my ride.
After noticing this man was PARKED in the vicinity I decided to call him and ask what the hold-up was. I tried several times to no avail and every time I was sent straight to voice mail. At this point I was already late for work. So I decided to start walking.
During my walk I contacted him several times via text asking him to cancel the trip for I was already on my way to work and unable to request another driver. Again: SILENCE
I finally gave up on my ghost driver and decided to document every step of the way (LITERALLY) until I reached my destination by foot.
Not gonna lie but I was concerned about the well being of my driver when I saw him parked only one block away from my destination and decided to tap on his window but I was relieved when I saw that a game of Candy Crush was the only impediment for our ride.
Anyway, I told him that it wasn’t necessary anymore to pick me up but I’d really appreciate the cancellation of the trip for I was already at my destination. He looked surprised at some point but quickly returned to his cute video game. I said my good-byes and carried on.
Not sure why, maybe it was the thrill of reaching a new level on Candy Crush or something else but it took him quite a while to realize that he had to cancel the trip and since my phone was dying I decided to take a last screenshot of this wonderful experience.
Don’t worry @Uber @Uber_Support THIS happens here on a regular basis: drivers taking the wrong turns or sitting in parking lots waiting for us users to cancel so they can get paid. Thought I’d share this anyway. By the way, I’ve moved onto @lyft and so far so good. 😉
