You re not paranoid. The TRA movement going after our kids' bodies is operating from a play book, which has been published by Thomson Reuters. Key strategies include "De-medicalise the campaign" (#2) "Avoid excessive press coverage and exposure" (# 8). /1 https://www.iglyo.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/IGLYO_v3-1.pdf
The other side has been incredibly effective at the complete institutional takeover. Let's learn from the best, shall we?

Rule #1: Target youth politicians.
"Main wings of political parties are often keen to listen to youth wings."

@AOC you are in the playbook, as the pawn. /2
Rule #2. De-medicalise the campaign.
"It was observed that the public often finds it difficult to accept irreversible surgeries until the age of maturity" and thus may be "apprehensive" to support gender laws for minors.

Let's make the public not notice where this road leads./3
Rule #3. Use case studies of real people.

"Telling real stories of people enables politicians and the general public to relate. This technique has been used in several countries to great effect."

Of course, never share stories of regret. /4
Rule #4. Anonymize the narrative.
Create fictional narratives and have them acted out.

Did we say real people in rule 3? LOL. Hire best actors, and write awesome scripts. It's Oscars time, baby!
PS. We're doing it to protect gay people. Being gay gets your killed, so trans! /5
Rule #5. Get ahead of the government agenda and the media story.
"Publish legislative proposals before the government had time to develop their own".

What politician doesn't like a shortcut? Ghost-write their laws before they wrote their own (and god forbid use their brain). /6
Rule #6. Use human rights as a campaign point
"Based on our research, human rights arguments have been instrumental to the success of several campaigns."

Piggy-back on others' hard-won success. Disguise push for medicalization of minors in a cloak of social justice. Use gays. /7
Rule 7. Tie your campaign to more popular reform.
"More popular reforms such as marriage equality legislation provided a veil of protection."

I repeat, use gays as much as possible. Why should we have to prove our own case? Make everyone think gay and trans's the same issue./8
Rule 8. Avoid excessive press coverage and exposure.
"Another technique which has been used to great effect is the limitation of press coverage and exposure. "

The press may connect the dots to medicalization. Keep it simple: love & acceptance. @AbigailShrier, @DrDebraSoh /9
Rule 9. Carpe diem.
"Use political moments that present a window of opportunity to lobby".

Any event that has an anti LGBT flavor and is trending, can be used. Laws that protect minors from pharma special interests? Murder of a trans woman sex worker? Politicize it all. /10
Rule 10. Work together
"It is crucial for activists to work collaboratively; with domestic LGBTI organizations, with international and regional trans rights organizations; and with human rights experts in academia."

Proletarians,unite. Don't forget your prof./11
@peterboghossian
Rule 11. Be wary of compromise
"All activists should be wary of compromise; compromise can be a double-edged sword."

Don't waver from the party line. Call anyone who questions the wisdom of turning confused kids into life-long medical patients patients a transphobe & bigot. /11
Done. Brought to you by Thomson Reuters, and law firm hired to this analysis, a few activists proudly sharing their names, and undoubtedly key donors.

Are we really just going to let this well-organized lobby continue to claim our angsty teens? Where's our counter-strategy? /12
