It is an anomaly to see people wielding assault riffles in broad daylight.
A press statement won't solve it
Internal structures of the police is obviously weak.
How do you enforce discipline?
Periodic Trauma and psychological evaluation.
The police is not an employment generation venture. Only qualified candidates should make the cut.
It is a prestigious profession. Don't soil it
Local police stations should work in concert with estate and landlord's associations.
SARS officials should remain as a standby unit for actual robbery cases.
Two wards should have their designated unit.. and their jurisdiction should be limited to those wards.
The force is obviously overblown in that department and there's no "actual" job for these guys to do.. so they move around looking for "jobs".
Do a personnel audit. Evaluate each officer and their fitness (mental and physical) for this role.
