1/5 - AA male in mid-50's with more than 10 lines of treatment of Myeloma, a single father of 11 yr old. Enrolled on Phase I trial, need a whole day of PK/PD, come three 3xweek- labs. On pain meds (for MM), can't drive to clinic visits. @utswcancer CRO

2/5: AA Male s/p ASCT for #mmsm, work 50hrs/week, widower, driving distance, no family, did transplant with hired help. Consented for maintenance study but cancelled - financial hardship, misinformed by community member that trials are hoax

As an individual doctor, I felt defeated ! I failed at so many levels, despite my small success. We need societal changes, financial measures, policy changes, community education and team work if we want REAL CHANGE. @ASCO @ASH_hematology @NIHDirector @BarackObama @MichelleObama
