I'm just going to put all of my old broken iPads and computers that I don't even know in chargers for anymore in a bag in the garage and my kid can deal with them when I'm dead.

After my grandpa died, I spent evenings winnowing old papers down to a few mementos, like my great-grandfather's poll tax receipts.

When I die, there'll just be a lifetime of unchargeable iPads.

I've never seen this symbol (an X) on a battery before. It won't hold any charge and if I take off the magsafe it does a hard reboot (including resetting the system time/date to 2001)

It sounds like it's disintegrating, but that's just the literal disk drive reading and writing data.
