Understanding the difference between an organic and inorganic #1 hit, another, much needed thread:
for this thread we are going to use the most recent “#1” hits, WAP and Dynamite

⚠️Note: everything in reference to Dynamite, can mostly apply to the Savage Love Remix which also, tragically went #1 too this week
to put it bluntly, an organic #1 is PRODUCED in part by fans consuming music but not SUSTAINED by fans consuming music.
that means that an organic #1 can be birthed and supported by fans. for example, during a debut week fans will be supporting the single as it is also the first week they would’ve heard it. this doesn’t mean all #1 debuts are organic however.
‘that means that an organic #1 can be birthed and supported by fans’ this remains true, however there is a tipping point where the organic success becomes inorganic success. when the unit consumption of the single becomes reliant on fans to get to or remain at a chart position.
for example: week after week, if you look at the unit breakdown of the top 5, you’ll see dynamite with crazy high, first week debut-like/adele level like unit sales. but we all know people don’t consume music like that anymore unless your well... adele (in this generation).
a look into #dynamite’s sales (all 10 versions)
debut week: >360k units sold
6th week: >80 units sold

it gon be a cold day in hell for the general public to eat up an average (at best) radio-friendly, generic song with no real flair to it whatsoever. but that’s jus my opinion🤷🏾‍♂️
anyways so yea 80k units, how do we know this isn’t the US gp actually being interested in the song? well we know that 85% of music in the USA is consumed via streaming and we look at the numbers and it we see what song was actually a hit and which one is a fraud
we know WAP is organic and in demand by the general public because it’s units follow what was stated above: ≈256k in sales and 570m in streams (all platforms). meanwhile dynamite has 1m pure sales and only 141m (all platforms).
with that we know that dynamite isn’t actually being consumed by the general public and that it’s chart position is only being sustained by fans mass buying the song’s multiple versions and remixes. it is inorganic and even the locals know it. y’all done alrdy seen the tweets💆🏾‍♂️
MY POINT: if the general public does not know the song or of its existence, they couldn’t even say the song name if they heard it even tho it’s the “NUMBER ONE song in the country” that song is inorganic asf. argue with the wall. y’all be mad cuz uk i’m right it’s okay
#army and #bts stans in general love to say “sO fANs ARenT aLlOWeD TO bUy MuSIc?” and not once in my life have i ever said that in my tweets💀. y’all can buy music but when it comes to saying that the music is organic, u can pack it up cuz u and i both know it isn’t so stop lyin
so like all i’m saying is that y’all can stop parading around twitter saying this song and sl remix were organic. savage love was alrdy a top 10 tiktok hit y’all jus put ur lil mass buying magic to work to give it that push to #1.
and it doesn’t have to be this way too. if billboard maybe changed their rules so that non-major remixes have no impact on chart position. read these to get what i mean.
take away your bias for a sec and think about it. you can go out on a regular day and ask anyone on the street, “have u heard the song dynamite?” and they’ll prolly be like “oh yea that hit song by Taio Cruz back in 2010! yes i have!” ain’t nobody know the bts one, i’m sorry😭
and i ain’t an oldhead either i’m only 18 but i remember hearing that dynamite so much. and tbh it’s the only dynamite that deserves #1 🤷🏾‍♂️. and the bts dynamite aged in literal dog years. so i get why 9 different versions were needed. you know, to spice up the sound.
leaving these here cuz y’all got brave brave for no reason thank u for these😭😭 @probIemthots
i’m ready for the “it’s the xenophobia for me” “just say your xenophobic and go” quotes😭😭 say anything bout bts and boom ur racist weeeee😭😭
📌if y’all want more info u can read my other thread that i accidentally tweeted before finishing and then i couldn’t finish it cuz of all the quotes and my adhd was going 📈📈 https://twitter.com/nathanpositions/status/1312925064979984385
anyways in conclusion dynamite and savage love remix are both perfect examples of inorganic fraudulence. WAP has been #1 on US spotify for almost 60 days meanwhile the others are on mass buying and remixes life support
🚨here is a supporting thread other ppls tweets that show i am not the only one who feels this way and there are many other ppl who feel the same way🚨 https://twitter.com/nathanpositions/status/1316065488649285633
this thread is completed. stream anything but dynamite and savage love remix. we will be streaming aritan tho wbk😌 cuz we don’t hate bts. we just don’t like their fraudulence and the majority (but not all) of their fandom #bts #BTS_Dynamite     #BTS2ndNo1onHot100 #purple
