You know what this Magical Girl Friendship Squad show reminds me of? There& #39;s this one scene in Cobra Kai that parodies this to a T.
(SPOILERS AHEAD)
Basically, the two protagonists, Johnny and Daniel, create their own karate schools. Daniel& #39;s is more traditional to what Miyagi taught him, while Johnny& #39;s is what he was taught as a kid in Cobra Kai and focuses more on violence- after all, their motto is "Strike first."
What I& #39;m trying to say is that most of us look at things from a Western lens and forget to look deeper into what that means for culture.

Magical Girl Friendship Squad is a "homage" to the Magical Girl topic of anime, but it only focuses on the superficial things.
It doesn& #39;t try to get deep into what the genre means and instead abandons it for the same old quirky humor we& #39;ve had for years. It has a lot of potential, but it wastes it.
