Kante began his career at a young age of 8 at Js Suresnes in the Western Suburbs of the Capital. He was at the club for a decade and according to his assistant manager Pierre Ville, Kante stayed away from bigger teams because of his small stature and selfless style of play. đź’™
In 2010 Kante joined the reserve team of Boulogne. He made his professional debut in the last game of the Ligue 2 season on 18 May 2012, a 1-2 home defeat for his already relegated team against Monaco.
During the 2012-13 season he played in the third-tier Championnat National, missing only 1 league game. He scored his first senior goal on August 10 in a win over Luzenac at the Stade de La Libératon and scored 2 more in the campaign.
In 2013, Kante joined Ligue 2 side Caen and played all 38 games in his first season as they finished third in the campaign which gained them promotion into Ligue 1. In his second match on August 9 Kante scored his first goal to equalise in a 2-1 win at Laval
The following season Kante played 37 games as Caen remained in the top flight; his one absence was a suspension through being sent off in a 0-1 loss against Rennes on 30th of August. He recovered the ball more times than any other player in Europe that season.
Kante was scouted for Leicester City by Steve Walsh, who had previously facilitated transfers like Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez. On 3 August 2015, Kante joined Leicester on a 4 year contract for a fee of €8 million. He made his debut 5 days later as a sub against Sunderland.
He earned much praise and many plaudits for his consistent displays for Leicester. Was also considered a major factor to the 2015-16 premier league champions, consistently making a high number of tackles and interceptions. He was named in the PFA Team Of The Year.
On March 17 2016, Kante was selected for the French Senior Squad for the first time to face Netherlands and Russia. He made his debut against Netherlands in a 3-2 win. On his 25th birthday he got his first start in a 4-2 over Russia in which he opened the scoring in.
On 10 June 2016, Kante appeared in his first Competitive match for France by starting the opening match of the Euro 2016 against Romania. He played the entire match, made the most passes, made the most tackles, the most interceptions, covered the most distance and got an assist.
On 16 July 2016, Kante signed for Chelsea in a deal worth of ÂŁ32 million and a 5 year contract
On 15 August 2016, Kante made his competitive debut in a 2-1 win against West Ham, despite picking up a yellow card he was still amazing. Three months after his move, he faced his former club Leicester which was a 3-0 win and picked up the MOTM. He got his first goal against ManU
On 26 December 2016, Kante was named as the World's sixth best footballer of 2016. On 13 March 2017 Kante was named Man Of The Match and scored the only goal in the Fa Cup quarterfinal against Manchester United. On 20 April Kante was named in PFA players player of the year.
Kante then became the first player since Cantona to win Back To Back Top flight titles in England with 2 Clubs.
In October 2017, Kante was nominated for the Ballon D'or. He would go on to gain an Fa Cup Winners Medal after a 1-0 victory against Manchester United on 19 May 2018.
On 17 May 2018, Kante was called up to the 23-man France World cup squad. He featured in all 7 matches for France in the tournament. He was awarded the Man Of The Match award against Denmark in the group stages. And started in the 4-2 win against Croatia in the final.
