Thread: Going to write this as quick as possible, so ignore grammar/spelling. It’s going to be hard enough for you all to not assume this is some dystopian fiction. For over a week I haven’t been allowed to eat/drink anything.
/ I checked into hospital because I’d been throwing up at home when I woke up in morning, had slight fever. Upon getting checked in, swabbed for #COVID19. 8 hour wait time. Cool looking hospital. Then threw up mucus w/black stuff. Staff learn I’d had pancreatitis last year.
/ They assumed I had it again because I’m an alcoholic (which is true). Admitted me, put me on IV fluids. CT scan showed pancreas damage. Assumed I had it again. Cut off all food drink. Started pumping in all kinds of weird shit. Meanwhile, no covid
/ Didn’t help, née assumption, I had gall stones. Needed MRI to confirm. No stones. New assumption, fatty liver. No food liquid continue. Ever seen Africa child starving, bloating? That’s me. Pain indescribable. Too bad, you damn alcoholic.
/ don’t try to leave, we’ll involuntarily put you in in-patient clinic. No one can rescue you, hosp on covid lockdown. Conceded to give 1 pain pill a day, but hey, free movies. Pain excruciating. Too bad, you need detox.
/ Can’t sleep/think. Finally they granted liquid diet. I went overboard, too much apple juice/chicken broth. Bloating worse. Back to IV. Considered eating toilet paper. Finally got vistit from Nutritionist. “No wonder you’re sick. Residents, “too bad”.
/ Happy Birthday to me. Compassionate nurse caught me sobbing, meanwhile, daily indoctrination, “you can’t quit on your own.” Finally Resident conceded maybe soft food soon.
/ Nurse took pity last night & gave me pain pill early. Still no food today tho. Who knows how long till they decide I’ve detoxed enough to leave, or even eat real food. This is an abbreviated version of this horror.
