Clear statement that The Equality Act allows exclusions on the basis of biological sex. Not “Gender Identity”. The Cass review is a welcome development whilst we await outcomes the #KeiraBell case.
Baroness Barker straight in with the hyperbole. The process currently costs £140. No requirements for an “interview”. No surgery required. The Baroness is giving away our words! The word “woman” is taken. Current Guidance lies about the Law. B. Berridge should know this,
Is it kinder to fast track access to surgery? How many more detransitioners before we actually examine the evidence from long term follow up? It’s not the panacea many people think it will be.
Bravo Lord Triesman. Very clear and recognises women’s concerns. He also seems to know about the plethora of inaccurate advice about single sex spaces across the women’s sector.
Nope. Baroness Berridge. Are you deliberately sowing confusion here? The whole point of the GRA statement is that SelfID is bad law and bad practice. Single sex spaces disappear if policy is allowed on Self-Identification.
Again. We cannot rely on Sporting bodies to develop their own policy. Sport, separated the basis of biological sex, is the only way to go for any that involve physical size, strength, lung capacity etc.

Lord Cashman. Patronising dismissal of a female minister’s capability. Mr Cashman appears not to have looked at patterns of sex offences. They are 19% of men held in male estate. Over 40% of males in the female estate. Is he aware of this?
Is he aware that the British Association of Gender Identity Professionals call his stance “naive”? Yes, Lord Cashman we do seem to have a peculiarly British streak of violent misogyny. I wonder how you could have missed it? Could it be because you are MALE?
We know hate crimes figures are gamed. They rely on self-perception & can include “misgendering” Merely recognising biological sex gets recorded as a #HateIncident. They are meaningless. Misogyny isn’t a hate crime and yet women are murdered not just called the wrong pronoun.
I do hope the Cass review isn’t going to be derailed by the inclusion of Gender Identity Ideologues like Dr Mike Brady. Once you belief in “biological gender” a medical pathway seems the only pathway. This is dangerous to children and young adults.
Another excellent intervention from Labour benches. I do wish they could be a little bit more honest about where the aggressive behaviour emanates from. That’d be #MaleTypeViolence.

It’s enough justification to say “I want a male free space”. On a hospital ward, in prison, in a bathroom /changing room or women only swim sessions. We should not have to justify this. And please use #SexNotGender
Yes Lord Hunt. Public bodies are LYING about the law all over the place. Even the Crown Prosecution Services replaced “sex” with “Gender Identity” in a document to train teachers about Equality Act 2010. Massive policy capture has happened. We do need to tackle the guidance.
Here is the CPS. Let that sink in. The Crown Prosecution Services LIED about the law. I wrote to them about it and they replied.
Here is a case from 2009. Pre-op male granted a GRC whilst in prison. Released to a female bail hostel and committed attempted rape within 5 days. Moved to a female prison. Here a thrice married man with seven kids was turned down more than once for a GRC. He also had convictions for obtaining explosives with intent to endanger life .
