I'm a bit concerned Sox fans are getting married to Hinch without understanding his role in the Astros organization.
Outside of the cheating, Hunch essentially acted as a conduit.
If you read "Astroball" his job wasn't necessarily to teach players more analytics based play but,

Instead, to let the staff do its job, at every level, and to properly use data given to him.
The key issue here is that the Astros built a bottom to top developmental approach that was easy for Hinch to plug and play.

Sox fans are falling a bit for the name rather than the ability.
Hinch was pretty bad for Arizona. A club more similar in scouting and analysis to the Sox than Houston.
Funny enough, he did the one thing Sox fans can't seem to shut their mouth about- managed the bullpen

Poorly down the stretch for the Astros.
I imagine we might see a similar issue here, unless the Sox have actually improved on their analytics based approach and continue building a competent roster
This isn't me being my usual self, either. This is me pointing at a fact, and sounding an alarm beforehand.
Also, I genuinely am so tired of reading Sox fans complain about lineups and bullpen management.
