I talk about it a lot. And I call Vegeta a bully. Saying he isn't doesn't mean he isn't. Just because he's a good guy now doesn't mean he isn't... He belittles people, especially his opponents and more often than not his ego and tendency to ask for last words bites him in the ass
... This was no different than with Frieza in Res F... He made the mistake of assuming he 100% had it and took his time. A luxury rarely afforded to the heroes as the villains are wily fuckin weasels. Moro being quite wily. And lo and behold he outmaneuvered him...

He then bodied everyone effectively. Merus intervened and regained the heroes their advantage that VEGETA cost them due to his being rather conversational with pricks like Moro...

All of Goku's training culminates in his accessing UI in its purest form yet wielded by a non-angel.
I see no issue. Considering it's in line with his character.
He didn't get shafted, he got a good moment. He got his long awaited one up that he's had 4 or 7 times before...

And he lost due to his own mistakes... Not because "Goku beets all duh baad guizz", but because he literally did what he always does...

Personally, I feel the approach is fine, if a little repetitive... However as I said it's in line with him in general.
I'll end this thread by saying they both did well this arc. And to say they didn't is just you not reading the manga...

I'm fine with him not getting the W as he gains nothing from it. He doesn't ever need any W save for Frieza. And when that comes, and believe me it will, all his fans will rejoice... But for now just chill and enjoy the ride
