#WeMakeEvents survey reveals Cultural Recovery Fund bypasses 95% of live event supply chain!

According to a survey conducted by #WeMakeEvents, so far only 5% of companies in the live events sector have received financial aid through the UK government’s Cultural Recovery Fund!

#WeMakeEvents carried out a comprehensive survey of company owners within the events industry. Over 750 responses were received within 12 hours from companies working in the events sector. Out of the surveyed respondents, 85% were ineligible under the funding criteria.

Of those companies that were able to apply, only a third received funding. Worryingly, our survey shows that of the companies surveyed, 64% estimated they could survive for only 3 more months without assistance.

The grants announced today are welcome news for the lucky 5% of businesses who received them. #WeMakeEvents urgently implores the UK government to work with us on finding a way to support the 95% who have missed out!!
