A group of protesters who were gathering at the Democracy Monument ahead of tomorrow's protest, including activist Jatupat Boonpattararaksa and singer Chaiamorn Kaewwiboonpan, has been taken away by the police.

A minor clash between protesters and police officers occurred as the protest leaders are being taken in the middle of making speeches.

The activist group Free Youth said on their Facebook page that officers said that this is in preparation for a royal procession.

Chaiamorn later posted on his Facebook page that it is unclear where the group is being taken to, but that he would like everyone to come out to the protest tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Thai PBS reported that the officers have told the remaining protesters to move up onto the footpath so that Bangkok Metropolitan Agency personnel can clean the street.

The officers refused to tell the remaining protesters where the others have been taken to, except that they are being taken to a safe place.

Human rights lawyer Anon Nampa announced on his Twitter that there will be an urgent demonstration at the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre (BACC) at 18.00 today following the protesters' arrest.

The group of protesters at the Democracy Monument will also be joinining the protest at BACC before going to the police headquarters to demand the protesters' release.

21 protesters have been arrested. One of the group posted on Facebook that they are at the Border Patrol Police Region 1 headquarters in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani.
