Since Azeris claim that #Armenia illegally occupies #NagornoKarabakh (NK) by UN general Assembly resolution. Read the thread to know why it is a LIE.
1)The UN Security Council NEVER discussed the settlement of the NK conflict and hasn't proposed any solution. In 1993 they adopted 4 resolutions preventing the geographical spread of hostilities and threatening other countries' involvement, incl. Armenia, Turkey, Russia,Iran, etc.
2)The main demand of these resolutions was the immediate ceasefire and resumption of negotiation processes, which Azerbaijan has broken and hasn't respected.Besides,Azerbaijan also didn't fulfill other demands of those resolutions, e.g. stopping the blockade and opening the roads.
3) ❗️In this resolution the Armenians of the Nagorno Karabakh region are considered an involved party.
or other way to say.The resolutions also mention the indigenous Armenian forces in Nagorno-Karabakh (NK) as a party to the conflict.
4) In the UN SC resolutions, there is only one demand addressed to the Republic of Armenia: to exert as much influence as possible on the Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh to give a peaceful course to the conflict, which has been implemented by the Republic of Armenia.
5)The Armenians of NK agreed to comply with those resolutions' requirements and ceased the fire, which was the main requirement; But Azerbaijan's non-compliance with the ceasefire requirement made it impossible to comply with the requirements of other conflicting parties fully.
6) The UN doesn't have a de jure recognition function, so it has never discussed and never recognized the legal status of any region of the world. Therefore, the UN SC four resolutions were not documents that de jure recognize the status of NK and its adjacent regions.--
6)--These resolutions were adopted in 1993 (not in 1991, when the conflict began), for a specific purpose, see paragraph 1. Therefore, any interpretation regarding those resolutions' status cannot be considered as #dejure recognition of that territory's status by the UN.
7) As the international right of the people of Nagorno Karabakh to self-determination has been recognized by the OSCE Minsk Group, EU countries and a number of other countries, the de jure status of Nagorno Karabakh must be finally clarified.
8) Failure by Azerbaijan to comply with the 4 resolutions adopted in 1993 led to the subsequent loss of validity of those resolutions due to eliminating preventable threats. And in 1994, due to other circumstances, an indefinite tripartite ceasefire agreement was signed.
9) During the collapse of the USSR, at the time of independence, Azerbaijan had no right to include the territory of the people of Nagorno Karabakh into its territory against the will of NK's people.
10) According to international norms, as well as the constitution and laws of USSR, during the collapse of the USSR, the people of Nagorno-Karabakh had all the rights to self-determination through free will, which they did. --
10)--Therefore, Nagorno-Karabakh has never been part of the independent Azerbaijan. In other words, Nagorno Karabakh has nothing to do with the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
