The 13th chapter of revelation is an amazing chapter in the Bible, it’s a chapter worthy to be called two chapters in one, from verse one to verse 10, its dealing with a beast that raises out of the sea, which we know its representing the anti-Christ beast, then from verses 11…
…on-wards it’s another beast just raising out of the land. While the question is, what do all these verses mean?
That’s why have this blog written, just stay connect with your internet, and we shall not deal with the first verses, but the last ones because these deal with our concern today.
So what does the beast represent in the Bible? Turn with me to Daniel. 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Daniel saw four beast that rose out of the sea, you may begin from verses one to get more details.
Then in verse 23 the angel confirms and says the fourth beast will be fourth kingdom upon earth, so a beast represents a kingdom according to this Bible verse, and this leaves another big question, what kingdom is being represented in REVELATION 13:11-18?
Every person, Bible scholars and the Bible itself well confirms for us that the first beast from the sea is the antichrist kingdom but few pick up the interest of this beast out of the land.
The only way we can fully identify which beast is here being spoken of is through getting the different characteristics then we can get to the world and try to find which beast fully fits the description. Let’s do that now, we shall begin with quoting the verses.
Rev 13:11  And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.12  And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose…
…deadly wound was healed. 13  And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14  And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to…
…them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.15  And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship…
…the image of the beast should be killed.16  And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17  And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the…
…number of his name. 18  Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

From here we get a number of characteristics describing the beast.
- It’s a Nation (Rev.13:11) it’s called a beast. So this should a nation and not an animal or human being because a beast represents a kingdom or nation. However the question is at what time does this nation rule?
Rev.13:16-17 shows end time issues, then that takes us to our second characteristics.
- Nation at End time Rev.13:16-17
- Its world’s most powerful nation at end time. Rev.13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
The first beast nor doubt also was a super power during its reign.
- It rises from the earth. Rev.13:11 so what does the earth represent? We have no direct scripture that gives direct answer to that question, but still from the chapter itself we find the route to the answer.
Don’t forget this is the second beast we are discussing, the first beast was said to come out of the sea Rev.13:1. And what does the sea represent in scripture?
If we can answer this, then we can get the answer to the first question of the land, because these two are always opposite, sea and land.
(ISV) Rev 17:15  The angel also told me, "The bodies of water you saw, on which the prostitute is sitting, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages.
So then the waters represent populated areas, then the land would be the opposite to this, it stands for areas not  inhabited, that means this is a nation that grows or comes not by fighting but rather just comes as people occupy the non-inhabited areas.
It’s totally a new nation at the end time.
- It’s a lamb like nation. Rev.13:11, three things we may know about a lamb:-it’s a peaceful animal that means this has to be a very peaceful nation. Then number two a lamb is young sheep. That would have to be a very young nation and not one which has been in existence for ages.
Thirdly a lamb is characterized by freedom, innocence, gentleness, and energy.
- It’s a Christian nation. Rev.13:11, this is because the lamb represents Christ in the Bible. John.1:29 then this should a Christian nation if it’s lamb-like.
- A democratic nation. This is because it has two horns and Rev.13:14 records saying “that they should make an image to the beast” if they should, then that means power is in their hands, that’s true democracy.
- Speaks as a dragon.Rev.13:11
- Makes an image of the first beast.Rev.13:15
- Forces the world to receive the MARK of the beast.Rev.13:16
The question still remains which nation can fulfill all the above descriptive futures? Do not miss out on the part2 of this study, you may sign up to be notified when ready.
