How has his “activism” changed the order of things? What reform or improvement has his being able to release people from police nets (like FK and Tola are doing) brought us if the policemen responsible for these crimes never get to pay for their sins?

What change has his “activism” brought if all the officers who do these things are allowed back into the police force to continue their pillaging and are never brought to book. Justice isn’t just being released from prison; it is getting the people who detained you to pay.

If you people have refused to think, I will do the thinking for you. The fact that one person made it his brand to be a “saviour” is enough reason to be wary of his intentions. Many Nigerian elites have “connections” too and they can all do what he is doing.

What Sega does is a sign of a broken system. It is everyone’s fucking constitutional right to get a lawyer and be released for unlawful detention and the fact that very few people have access to this right should worry us all. No one person should have all that saving power.

This is why we are all calling for a structural change. It is not normal that everyone depends on a saviour with certain “connections” to get out of jail when they are unlawfully arrested. I want you all to look beyond that. Ask for more because you deserve it. It is your right.

The fact that Nigeria has failed us does not mean that we should accept anomalies as normal. We are asking for change. Actual change and not saving. We don’t need saviours. We need working institutions where every Nigerian has EQUAL access to their constitutional rights.
