I almost never do this, but *please* stop sharing tweets by Devi Sridhar. She is a "professor of public health" who has no medical qualifications. I say this only to point out that she is not required to maintain professional standards to keep her credentials.
Today, she is pontificating about immunology, an area in which she has, to my knowledge, done no experimental work. She blocks scientists with relevant expertise who correct her errors. I recommend you do the same to her.
I absolutely *hate* having to get into this kind of personal stuff, but, when a senior, responsible figure spreads medical misinformation to the point where it's a danger to public health I've got to use what little platform I have to call it out.
Someone had to tag in both Sridhar and Gupta (who I have no quarrel with) into this, in a tweet agreeing enthusiastically with me. I blocked him. I have no interest whatsoever in a culture war about this. It's literally a matter of hygiene.
