To say our farmers can still magically maintain their high standards and animal welfare is nonsense.

UK Farmers will not be able to compete with nations with lower standards. Their food is cheaper. Cheaper means low quality.

Our farmers will be unsupported on world markets.

The only farms that will survive are those that return to intensive farming.

The carbon footprint of our food will increase. Brazilian beef, produced on former rainforest has a carbon footprint 20x that produced in the UK.

But our beef farming will collapse.

Family farms will go under.
Our food safety is now compromised.
Sustainability is out the window.
but more worryingly, this govt has now made us a nation entirely dependent on others for the production of our food.

It’s wicked. And stupid. And irresponsible.

This govt also wants to end labelling. o you won’t know where your food is from.

There’s one line of defence now - the supermarkets. We need to lobby them and get them to commit to insisting on labelling and promise not to sell compromised food.

You might wonder, why isn’t this on the front page of every paper?

It should be.

Imagine the outcry if the govt had just signed the death warrant for fishing?

What’s wrong with cheap food, the millionaires who won’t have to eat it tell us.
