(Note: No images/stills/video clips from this presscon but we're allowed to tweet updates. We'll be hearing from the 4 girls and Caroline Suh, who directed the documentary.)
BLACKPINK's here – Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa on stage for the Global Press Conference, take turns saying hello to journalists tuned into the live stream.

(Note: Answers are lifted from the live audio translations on the live stream)
They're asked: How do you feel, docu about to stream?

Rose: I think because all of us watch a lot of things on Netflix, it's such an honor to have our documentary air on Netflix, also the fact that so many people will see it globally, it's great. We're really nervous.
Netflix users can also switch their log in icons to any of the 4 girls. How does it feel?

Lisa: I can't believe it, I love it. I can't wait to change my icon right now.
Documentary director Caroline Suh (Netflix’s “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat”) joins the 4 girls via video call.

"I have a special affection for the film and I'm excited for everyone to see it, finally."
Why did they decide to say yes to docu?

Jennie: We always think about ways to go closer to the fans and to the public and when we worked with Suh, we thought that we found the right person so there was no reason to hesitate...
Jennie: ...And we are really looking forward to the release of the documentary.
Jisoo: First, it's an honor to be in line with the global female artists such as Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Lady Gaga. The 4 of us has come a long way and we will continue to show more of us to fans.
Jennie: We were able to go back to times that we even forgot ourselves... we wanted to show all the hard work manifested in the glamorous stage of BLACKPINK while also sharing the authentic [things] that we haven't shown before.
Jisoo says documentary will also show behind-the-scenes footage from BLACKPINK's Coachella performance.
Rose: All of our members, when we were having the interview were able to open up and share some of genuine thoughts. We were speaking in the language we were most comfortable in... so there are a lot of languages included in the documentary.
Rose: When we get really honest and true to ourselves... it's embarrassing but I did shed some tears. I hope the fans also appreciate that as well.
Lisa says having a camera crew trailing them around was awkward at first but they got used to it eventually. Credits Caroline Suh for helping them become more comfortable in the process of creating the documentary.
Did that their bond become stronger in shooting the documentary?

Jennie: We were together since we were teenagers. Now we're in our 20s. We were able to see each other grow and we were able to share all the emotions in the world throughout the journey.
Jennie:We are like family but even when we are working, we still have that special bond. When we were shooting the film, we were able to bring out some of the more playful aspects of ourselves. It made our relationship stronger, made us think about the [future of our relationship]
Jisoo: Teddy [Park, YG producer] also knows us individually very well and he listens to what we have to say to each other and he is able to reflect that to the direction of our music. He, I'd believe, he is definitely out 5th member.
Rose says Caroline Suh communicated with the group constantly to make them comfortable.
After Rose called Caroline "cool," the director jokes, BLACKPINK is obviously cooler than me.
Caroline Suh says she wasn't that familiar about K-Pop prior to working on the film (although she notes her nephew is a K-Pop fan). Says she dived into the world of BLACKPINK – listening to their music, watching BLACKPINK House.
Caroline: We were interested in telling the story of how BLACKPINK came together and how the girls each had a path that led them to BLACKPINK. We wanted to tell the story from the POV of the members, their thoughts on what that journey was like.
BLACKPINK's collab with Lady Gaga happened during the filming of the documentary. Caroline was there at the studio to witness BLACKPINK hear "Sour Candy" prior to its release.
BLACKPINK asked if shooting it was difficult since they don't always guest on variety, reality shows.

Lisa: I don't think anything was particularly difficult, we all just had a lot of fun. Tomorrow, we can't wait. We're really nervous but I hope people enjoy it.
How did it feel to speak publicly about insecurities, self-doubt?

Jisoo: We started on this project thinking we wanted to show the more genuine side of ourselves.
Jisoo: ...Through heart to hearts, we were able to know each other even deeper. For Blinks, we really wanted to share more of us with them. I think it was very needed for us.
What did she learn about BLACKPINK while filming the documentary?

Caroline: Their success is very hard-won. Each one of the members is very strong-willed and fierce and went after their dream, worked very hard for it.
Anything you could say to yourself during your trainee yrs, what would it be?

Jennie:All 4 of us had a very clear purpose that we wanted to achieve as members of BLACKPINK.For every moment we went through to achieve that,we wanted to make sure that none of us became tired of it
Jennie: We were all in it together. We have diff styles, different strengths... but I think we learned how to bring that in harmony, to communicate that with one another to achieve our goal.
Jennie: I would like to say [to my trainee self], enjoy the moment....Do well and keep going because you're going to be in BLACKPINK.
Caroline Suh says they're thankful that YG Entertainment had archive footage, photos that they shared with Caroline. Also thankful because the 4 girls shared their personal photos and videos with her.
Asked how she feels that old footage is part of documentary, Jisoo says: I will enjoy it. Please look forward to seeing them.
Question from media: Advice for those who might watch docu with dreams of being the next BLACKPINK–

Lisa: Always have confidence in yourself. Take care of yourself and love yourself.
Memorable scenes in the documentary?

Rose: We were looking at our old footage together... that was really fun. And we were talking about some of the old episodes, we were teasing each other. I think that was one of the most memorable scenes.
Jennie: Before the interview, I was really really nervous. When I started talking, I found myself talking about myself and a lot of things.
Jisoo says they haven't seen the documentary yet! Finds it funny that her line in the teaser has been talked about a lot.
Lisa: When we were all together and watching videos from our childhood. And I think Rosé's childhood was most impressive. Tomorrow needs to come very quickly.
Caroline Suh on what impressed her the most about BLACKPINK: Tenacity.

"They're also very supportive of each other. And that's very real. I can see that from spending time with them."
How have you changed together and what have you learned from each other?

Jisoo: We were able to grow a lot, our inner selves and external selves. Coachella was... we watched clips of that during practice so when we were able to perform on stage...
Jisoo: ...it was really a rewarding memory for us, so it brought back a lot of memories as well. In the past, we were trying to achieve a lot of things for ourselves.

Jisoo says a lot has changed but the goals they've set for themselves haven't.
Jisoo says sometimes they get really tired but: Each time we are together, we remind ourselves that we are heading towards the same goal and it gives us more drive so there's a lot of synergy created w/in the group.
Jennie: Teamwork is great. We can look at one another in the eye and we know immediately what we can do for them and what we can do for the team.

(Jennie gets emotional): And because we have that teamwork, the fans get that positive energy.
What are the things you miss from your ordinary lives?

Rosé: From our trainee days, we grew up together from we were very young. Although a lot has changed since our debut, when we work together,it kind of feels the same. A lot of what we had back then is still within us today.
Q from the media: What are some goals that you wanna achieve moving forward? What will BLACKPINK be like in 2021, 10 yrs from now?

Jisoo: We released our first album so we wanna do our best on that and going forward, we want to continue to challenge ourselves...
Jisoo: We've thought about what kind of new things we want to show the world. Because music has become an extended work of art, we want to provide the best to our fans. In that sense, the documentary will be one of the first teps in doing that.
Jisoo: ...in 10 yrs, hopefully we will still be BLACKPINK... I think we can imagine ourselves talking about other new things to do together.
And that's a wrap for the Global Press Conference w/ BLACKPINK and Caroline Suh! "BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky" premieres on Netflix October 14.
In saying their goodbyes and thanks to media watching the Global Press Conference, Lisa jokes: I hope you choose me as your Netflix log-in icon.
