It's my b'day week. While we are just past #WorldMentalHealthDay , there's no reason to stop working towards #MentalHealthForAll . In theme with 'more investment in area of mental health', I'm collaborating with MHAT (Mental Health Action Trust) to raise funds for their work ++
MHAT is a Kozhikode (Kerala) based charitable trust and runs on donations and volunteer work only. In the next few tweets, I will tell you what they do but I am just leaving the link to their donations page up here so you can contribute directly
https://www.mhatkerala.org/ongoing-projects/ ++
MHAT follows the basic principle of community-based therapy for the less fortunate among us. They believe mental health is not a single person's problem. It's the responsibility of the community. People in society play part in treatment and recovery of a mentally-ill person. ++
This is in line with my belief that good mental health is a collaboration between personal responsibility and community consciousness. MHAT conducts its work knowing that the roles of patient, caregiver and other members of the society are mutually shifted at different times ++
We never know when mental disorders and illnesses come on, and on whom. So mental health issues need to be taken up as a whole by the society. MHAT need help in many ways, economical support is one of them. So if you want to step beyond ++ https://www.mhatkerala.org/ongoing-projects/
Reading and writing about mental health, and help in a way that will enable experts to help the most disadvantaged of us, do consider contributing to the cause. https://www.mhatkerala.org/ongoing-projects/

The website is a bit basic but the audited reports of their financials are all there ++
Do take a look at all that they do, listen to the ideas and work of Dr Manoj Kumar on the videos there and see the work they do and then do contribute. https://www.mhatkerala.org/ongoing-projects/

It would mean a lot to me, and much much more to the people doing the work, as well as receiving help.
